Get to know our 2025 Host Community Coordinators!

As we gear up for our 2025 community intensives in Campbellsville and Morehead, we’d like to take a moment to introduce the Host Community Coordinators.

They have been working on the ground in these communities alongside a committee of local leaders to help us design an itinerary that celebrates community assets, addresses complexities, challenges assumptions, and reveals commonalities.

Jessie Harden-Calhoun

Campbellsville & Taylor County

Jessie Harden-Calhoun is from Taylor County/Campbellsville and is thrilled to be in the role of Host Community Coordinator to welcome RUX back to her hometown once again. She is currently working as an English Language Consultant at Taylor County Public Schools where she advocates for the local Hispanic/Latinx community. She has a passion for fostering dialogue, navigating the social ‘whys’ in life, and pursuing equity. Jessie is interested in building bridges between us all by providing opportunities for healing through creativity and emotional openness.

Emma Marriner

Morehead & Rowan County

Emma Marriner is a Morehead, KY native with a Bachelor's degree in Geology from Morehead State University. Currently, she works at the non-profit Save The Children, where she is passionate about making a difference. Outside of work, Emma enjoys knitting, reading, and traveling. She is really excited to be a part of the Rural Urban Exchange this year and looks forward to engaging with her community in new and meaningful ways.

Give a big welcome to Jessie and Emma! They are essential in the process of creating nuanced and exciting cohort intensive weekends in Campbellsville and Morehead this summer.
